Well I know TAA says you have to wear some, and usually a full face mask would provide that. Of course I'm not really a huge fan on those, they're really cumbersome, so I've got some alternatives, but unfortuantely, none cover my ears. Exactly what is considered ear protection? Would ear warmers be enough or would I just have to buy a face mask anyway?

They requare full face protection. for ears you need something to cover them. like the side plates of a mask, BUT i only wear one of the full front mesh mask, i have to wear a snow hat of some form that cover the ears. They dont want a BB intering the ear canal. Mouth, pading is not allowed, you need eather a mask or lower mesh mask to protect your teath from shattering. Eyes, you want a certified mask or goggles made for airsoft. NOT glass that will shatter into your eyes. so make sure you know what your buying. Btw mesh is hard to see through and can rarely have specks of BBs fly through. (myth)

Adding on to what Ben said: Many popular methods of ear protection include wearing a balaclava or shemagh. Wearing these also protects the back of your head and neck to some degree.

Thanks. I have plenty of winter hats that can serve the purpose.

Just noticed this thread--particles of BBs going through is not a "myth". It has happened to a lot of people, myself included. Mesh isn't all hard to see through--some masks/goggles are pretty thinly-spaced mesh so visibility is actually good.
