Im runing a m80 spring on 13:1 gears on a stock motar with a mosfet and "NO FUSE" system on a 1600mah 9.6. i have no way to say the ROF but by guessing. i will say around 25-35 rof and 290-310 fps (.20 gram BB's). Now to my problem. my gearbox is a cast zink gearbox. Will it break under these conditions? All plastic piston and heads, im trusting the plastics as a damponer. i know they make nice Steal mechboxs but they cost alot, or i could renforce my mechbox with stamped style 1/8th plate steal. nonpratical but a cheaper option. i dont want to decrease the stress on the interals by reducing ROF or FPS; from like silent piston heads or cushions. id rather make it be able to take the stress.

Another thing, My ROF outdoes all mp5 high cap mags, and some midcaps. Im modding mags like crazy to make them feed as fast as possable. it seems that spring spacers are the best option, as they work yet remove campacity of aprox. 15 BB's, Silicon coats the BB's making them curve. Any ideas?

I am not sure about how your gearbox will hold up to the high rate of fire, but I would definitely not trust that speed to plastic gears and a plastic piston. I would invest in reinforced/steel components in order to dramatically reduce the effects of "wear and tear" that you would otherwise find with your plastic components.

The best idea I would have for the mag problem would be to get an electric auto-winding drum mag. They're sold out on Evike, I think there is one on ASGI, and TAA may have some as well.

I hope this answered your question(s)? Good luck!

I don't think this person's gearbox has plastic gears.

Now for plastic piston, it could mean polycarbonate--I don't think you'll find a cheap ABS plastic piston holding up much.

Metal piston teeth and metal piston heads will slow down your rate of fire a bit.

The gears are metal, steal , brand new super shooter 13:1 gears. if i put a heavy metal  piston and head i will lose rof and fps and will crack the gearbox. high rof dont use metal pistons. and ive heard of electric mags but they feed just as fast as a highcap which is way to slow. sorry to shoot down your ideas though :/

Okay i found that mid-caps with harder springs feed flawlessly, but it sounds like its firing blanks since its very loud from the impact of the piston head. should i make a damponer... i know i said i didint want one but it hurts my ear firing like 30rps with repetive "Ersnap!" sound. which blends into one long "BUZZZZZZZZZ". how much technoligy designs are there that i could copy and build myself. i know of Systemas silent air head, Angel's suckion cup like thing and ive seen a air cushion technoligy

Haha, wow...My apologies, I completely misinterpreted what you said and I wasn't thinking at all about the steel piston.
