Tactical Airsoft Arena

Well, I'm stumped. In the times I've been to TTA, I've been forced to leave my pistol at home due to the FPS limit. Since TTA will more than likely become my new main field, I want to purchase a quality GBB sidearm under the FPS limit, but I only have $120. I can't find a single *quality* gun fitting my criteria. Any suggestions?

Get $20 more and buy the KJW M9 at TAA for $140.. Personally I think its the most reliable M9

The KWA NS2 series pistols work GREAT. They are the most reliable and all around amazing pistols I have ever handled. They run around the $140 price range. I definitely would say save up the money and get one, it'll never break lol.

I own a KSC KP8C myself.  I actually have a non-NS2 (older-gen) version and yet it's already good with gas, so you can imagine only improvement with the NS2 system.  It shoots about 280 FPS with 0.20g BBs on green gas from what I've chronoed at TAA.

For most people I would recommend the regular size USP, but I like the USP Compact myself.

Feature-wise, the USP is very comfy and the controls are easy to use and reach.  Unlike the 1911s/Hi-capas, there is no protruding beavertail to break and the grip has a bit of a rough texture on the back for good grip.  The baseplate on the mags for the USP Compact are interchangable between protruding and flush with the receiver.

One disadvantage to the USP series is that it's one of the pistols that doesn't have a standard 20mm rail but instead has a proprietary HK rail--unless you buy a simple rail adapter.  Another small disadvantage is that the slide of the USP series is wider compared to those of other popular pistols like Glocks or 1911s/Hi-capas.

I like the USP series as an alternative sidearm of choice.  Glocks are increasingly hard to get and 1911s/Hi-capas are commonplace.

As you can see its really all preference... normally a good GBB cost about $140+ but don't base your GBB choice primarily upon the cost of the GBB.. try different GBB's out and see what you like..

Just a note about KWA NS2 GBB pistols.  Most of them are well above our field limit.

Oh shoot that's right, mine must be under the limit because it's the older, non-NS2 system.

I have a KP8C NS2 and it is below field limit.  I love it!  One of my favorite features is the follower lock on the mags.  Being able to lock the follower spring makes loading so much easier.

I kinda prefer a beaver tail on the hammer, so not have one is a bit of a dissappointment,  But it doesn't effect performance.

To answer the main topic, i recommend Marui's aeps. I personnally own a Mac-10 and an Mp7  and they are the best. I can sell you 2 Beretta 93 r for 120 if you want.

Actually, KWA just released other GBB that uses the NS2 system is is still under the field limit.

If you like M1911's(100th year anniversary this year:D)  i'd recommend a WE/Socom Gear M1911. I own one and it's accurate,stylish,below field limit, and costs around $110-$140 based on the amount of accessory's that come with it. And its crazy durable(just don't drop it some stuff gets misallined nothing breaks tho).

I have a cheap pistol that shoots field limit. Its a SA Sig Sauer SP2022. It uses C02 and one tank will last a dozen mags. It was originally $80 but i am selling it for only $30

I highly doubt that a co2 pistol will shoot under the field limit, i looked up this gun and airsplat.com claims it shoots 380 fps with .20s.

It's hard to find but some C02 pistols do shoot at or under the field limit--it's just more common to find ones that are hot.

The thing is, with c02 guns.. usually when you put a brand new cartridge in.. and shoot off that first shot.. it will shoot about 400+ FPS.. then like halfway thru.. it may shoot field limit.. but heres the thing.. to use a c02 gun at TAA.. you must show them your putting a brand new cartridge in and fire off that first shot when your chronoing the gun.. soo.. chances are that chronoo is going to beep! and say 400+ FPS and you wont be using that c02 gun there..
